In a recent sit-down with Boss Talk 101, comedian Bubba Dub opened up about more than just punchlines. Known for his viral catchphrases and raw comedic timing, Bubba Dub proved he’s more than internet funny—he’s built for the stage and walking in his purpose.

He’s made waves on the We Them Ones Comedy Tour—alongside legends like Mike Epps, Kountry Wayne, Karlous Miller, Lil Duval, Corey Holcomb, Mojo Brookzz, HaHa Davis, and Tony Roberts. It’s a heavyweight lineup, but he’s not intimidated.

“I put a lot of pressure on myself to be on stage with them,” he said. “But then I get there and realize—these n***** can’t f*** with me. I’m right there with them. I’m definitely in my own lane.”

He said it plain. Not to flex—but to free himself from the weight of comparison. It seems like Bubba Dub understands that when you’re truly aligned with your own identity, there’s no need to compete. You realize your lane was built for you, and nobody else can drive it the same. That’s what makes him stand out. Not just the jokes, but the unshakable awareness that his gift can’t be duplicated.

One of the names that came up during the interview was Floyd Mayweather. According to Bubba Dub, the boxing legend has shown up for him in a way that goes beyond photo ops.

Mayweather has pulled up 30 deep to a show, invited him into his home, and continues to drop gems that stick. It’s giving mentorship energy—two Black men from different arenas showing what support across industries should look like. No ego, just excellence. What makes it even more impressive?

He managed to establish a connection with both Floyd and 50 Cent—who we all know have had some long-standing static. In an industry full of lines drawn in the sand, Bubba Dub is moving with intention while remaining true to himself—navigating brotherhood and business without getting caught in the middle.

He joked that comedy wasn’t his original dream. He once thought he might be a crooked pastor. Somehow the laughs became a calling of their own, and comedy is the ministry. That’s how GOD works. He used the power of comedy during the COVID era, when laughter became a lifeline.

Gratitude is all over Bubba Dub’s delivery. He spoke on learning from every comic on the tour, recognizing the difference between people who are with you and those who are truly for you, amongst other gems.

“I’m here to bring laughter and joy to the people, and that’s what I’m gone do,” he said. “I’m gone give you Bobby Brown jaw when you come to see me.”

In the world of comedy, where ego can kill momentum, Bubba Dub seems grounded. He’s funny—but he’s also focused.

Bubba Dub isn’t just running with the greats—he’s carving out a legacy of his own. From holding his own on stage to building bridges behind the scenes, he’s showing what it looks like when talent, purpose, and authenticity align.
