DL Hughley Joins Fort Worth’s Historic Juneteenth Celebration
A Boss Talk 101 Spotlight on Legacy, Culture & Community Power
Fort Worth, TX – June 15, 2025 — Fort Worth’s Evans Avenue Plaza was lit with pride, purpose, and power as comedian, activist, and cultural voice D.L. Hughley made a surprise appearance at the city’s annual Juneteenth Celebration. Boss Talk 101 was on the ground capturing this iconic moment where entertainment met activism in the heart of Texas.
From marching bands to local vendors and youth performances, the event pulsed with the energy of Black excellence. But it was Hughley’s unexpected visit that sent waves through the crowd. Wearing his signature hat and calm confidence, the King of Comedy took time to engage with fans, press, and organizers—reminding everyone why Fort Worth’s role in Juneteenth history remains sacred.
“It’s important to show up where our stories started,” said Hughley in a brief interview. “Texas is the birthplace of Juneteenth, and I’m always proud to be a part of that.”
The celebration marked more than a holiday—it was a movement. A statement of resilience. A reminder of how far we’ve come and how much further we have to go.
Boss Talk 101 honors events like these not just for the star power, but for the deep community impact. As a platform rooted in culture, conversation, and community, we salute every organizer, performer, and elder who made the day unforgettable.
