JHONNIE DAMN D BRINGS OUT DALLAS ICONS AND REMINDS THE WORLD: WE’RE FROM TEXAS.

Jhonnie Damn D is connecting generations of Dallas music by bringing back the city’s classic sound, dances and swagger—then mixing it with the movement he is building today.
With current stars such as BigXthaPlug, Yella Beezy, 4Batz and the late MO3 helping carry Dallas onto the national stage, some listeners may not realize that a strong culture was brewing in the city long before their arrival. Jhonnie’s latest music video delivers that reminder by bringing together DSR, Dorrough Music, Yung Nation alum Foolie Fame and other familiar faces from the Dallas–Fort Worth music scene.

Shot by 6K Jefe, the video captures the atmosphere that once made Dallas clubs feel like their own world. From the opening shots, viewers are surrounded by iced-out grills, packed club scenes, high energy and the unmistakable confidence of North Texas. Once the beat drops, the dancers take over, unapologetically hitting the Murda Bend and moving with the freedom that has always defined Dallas dance culture.
The collaboration feels bigger than a collection of cameos. It is a celebration of different eras coming together to show that the Dallas–Fort Worth music scene never lost its juice—it simply put some things on ice.
Jhonnie has also been working beyond Texas. He has spent considerable time in Atlanta, building relationships, creating music and learning how to move within that market. Still, he never hesitates to let people know exactly where he comes from: Texas—and more specifically, Dallas–Fort Worth.
That hometown pride is what makes this visual such a bold statement. Jhonnie is not only showing the world where his movement is headed; he is honoring some of the artists he grew up admiring. Bringing those influences into his new chapter feels like both a grand slam and a passing of the torch.
As a DJ and an advocate for Dallas culture, this video was a slam dunk for me. I remember when DSR emerged during an era when the rest of the country knew little about shag haircuts. I remember Dorrough Music taking “Ice Cream Paint Job” worldwide, and I remember Yung Nation having clubs rocking with a sound and movement that belonged to Dallas.

Jhonnie Damn D puts all of that history into one visual while proving that the city is still moving forward. As he travels from state to state with a mission to make the whole world dance again, he continues to represent the culture that shaped him. The message is loud and clear: we are from Texas, we are here to stay, and we came to party.
