Dallas, TX – Boss Talk 101 recently welcomed Marcus D. Wiley, the Houston-born clean-comedy standout, for an in-depth conversation with E-CEO and Mrz. Jamaica that blended humor, wisdom, and authenticity. Known for his ability to make audiences laugh without crossing the line, Wiley opened up about his life story—from his upbringing in Houston’s diverse neighborhoods to his rise as a respected name in comedy.

From Houston Streets to Higher Learning

Wiley’s story begins in a blended household, where his mother’s steady hand, his stepfather’s guidance, and the influence of both his biological father and step-siblings shaped his perspective. Growing up between Fourth Ward, Missouri City, and the cultural heartbeat of Third Ward, Wiley developed a deep connection to his community—one that continues to influence his material today.

A proud graduate of Texas Southern University (TSU), where he studied Radio, TV, and Film after first attending Angelina Community College, Wiley also met his wife during his college years—recalling the day she first noticed him in “fresh white jeans and a gray button-up” during a student film project.

Faith as a Foundation

Raised in the church, Wiley shared how he took personal ownership of his faith at age 13, “walking the aisle” not out of obligation but conviction. That decision laid the groundwork for his unique comedic voice—one rooted in truth, shaped by scripture, but never out of touch with the realities of life.

Family Ties & Finding His Lane in Comedy

Comedy was always part of Wiley’s orbit—especially because he’s cousins with Houston’s own Ali Siddiq.

Wiley began hosting open mics at a local coffee shop, where poets, musicians, and comedians Including Ali Siddiq Would preform. The two shared stages in the early days, during the pandemic, Ali invited Wiley to hit the road with him, opening the door to more comedy club appearances and the filming of Wiley’s hit special, Marriage Is Major Surgery, which has since racked up millions of views online.

Clean Comedy with Depth

What sets Wiley apart is his decision to keep his act clean—not by avoiding real topics, but by approaching them with wit, tact, and authenticity. Over time, he began weaving his wife, children, and family dynamics into his act, creating material that resonates on both comedic and personal levels.

“Marcus Wiley embodies what Boss Talk 101 is all about—real people telling real stories with authenticity and impact,” said E-CEO. “He’s living proof that you can keep it clean, keep it real, and still keep the crowd rolling.”

With a career built on faith, family, and hard work, Marcus D. Wiley continues to inspire audiences nationwide—reminding us that laughter doesn’t have to come at the expense of truth.
