Say Goodbye to Master P, Hello Coach P”: Final Act, New Chapter, and a Curveball with Mia X

Percy Miller, better known to the world as Master P, is officially stepping away from the mic. His final rap performance will include the No Limit Soldiers, and will take place at Essence Festival 2025 in New Orleans, and after that—it’s all Coach P.
“Say goodbye to Master P, and hello to Coach P…God has led me on this journey to be able to go and be a future leader.” he said in an interview with WDSU News in New Orleans.
It’s not a step back. It’s a step deeper into purpose.
Master P has worn many hats over the years: rapper, label exec, actor, film producer, cereal brand owner, shoe designer, investor—you name it. A serial entrepreneur with No Limit hustle and boardroom vision is turning servant- leader, and I’m here for it.
Now is the time for purpose to truly play its part.
He’s accepted a leadership role at the University of New Orleans, serving as President of Basketball Operations, with his first season tipping off November 8, 2025. His mission? To build up young men, not just as athletes—but as leaders.
This isn’t just a career move. It’s a heart move.
Master P credits his own childhood basketball coach for changing the course of his life. Now, decades later, he’s choosing to become that same influence for others.
The same man who taught artists how to own their masters will now play a part in shaping how his players master their lives.
Essence Fest will be his one last ride on the stage. The farewell concert is set for July 6, 2025, as part of the Essence Festival of Culture. He’s calling on fans to show up in black-and-white camo to rep No Limit one last time.
“We went from nobody knowing who we were… from 0 to 100 million records.”
The festival also marks 20 years since Hurricane Katrina, making this final performance even more symbolic for the city that raised him.
However, Mia X, a founding voice of No Limit, announced she’s opted out of Master P’s final performance. In a series of Instagram stories, she explained:
“It’s still unbelievable… I will NOT be performing… At first, his management didn’t want to entertain my performance fee… I feel disrespected—no rehearsals, no contract, no deposit…”
Her presence will be missed in what was pitched as a full No Limit reunion. Master P seems to be rooting for her return, which suggests that there is hope for a resolution before the show.
Nevertheless, Master P’s next chapter proves one thing: legacy isn’t about holding on—it’s about passing the torch.
He’s leaving the game on his own terms, turning the spotlight toward service and building from the inside out.
From record deals to real estate, from beats to blueprints, from mic to mentorship—Master P has always kept more than one piece on the chessboard. Now, as Coach P, he’s making the biggest play of his life.

The real takeaway? Master P is living proof that you can do anything you put your mind to.
You don’t have to box yourself into one category. You can go from absolutely nobody to 100 million. When you’re walking in purpose, it all comes back around—360—and makes the kind of sense that only comes from God and fully surrendering to the mission He has for you.
With that in mind, this isn’t just a concert—it’s a cultural farewell. A man who helped shape hip hop, business, and Black excellence is stepping off stage and into service. If you’ve ever worn camo, shouted “Uhhh!”, or been inspired by the Master P hustle—this is the one show you don’t want to miss.
